Advertising and affiliate disclosure

PaySlipCheck is free to use because we run advertising and a small number of affiliate links. PaySlipCheck is published by POW XD Ltd. This page explains where the money comes from, how we keep that separate from what we publish, and what you can expect to see on the site.

Google AdSense

We display advertising through Google AdSense. Ads are labelled as "Ad" or "Advertisement" by Google and appear in fixed slots on some pages — typically the top of an article, between long sections, or below the main content. We do not choose which ads appear; Google matches ads to page context and, where you've allowed it, to your browsing patterns. Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland see Google's own consent message (a Google-certified consent management platform) and choose there whether ads can be personalised. You can also turn off ad personalisation in My Ad Center.

Our AdSense publisher ID is ca-pub-5151733010595069 and is declared in our ads.txt file. We follow the Google publisher policies — no ads on thin content, on error pages, or beside content that would make advertising placement inappropriate.

Affiliate links

Some outgoing links on PaySlipCheck are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or buy something, we may earn a commission from the provider. It doesn't cost you anything extra. Each one is labelled "Affiliate link", goes via a /go/<name> address on this site, and is marked rel="sponsored".

Our current affiliate partners are:

  • Emma (via Awin) — a UK budgeting app. Linked from pages about budgeting from your payslip and tracking take-home pay.
  • NEWCV.IO (via Awin) — an online CV builder. Linked from the take-home pay calculator, for readers thinking about a better-paid role.
  • Learning 24/7 (via Awin) — online courses. Linked from pages about qualifications, skills and salary growth.
  • Your Company Formations (via Awin) — UK limited company formation. Linked only from contractor and limited-company pages.
  • Crystal Life Wills (via Awin) — online will writing. Linked from a few household-finance pages.
  • Deel (via PartnerStack) — payroll and employer-of-record services. Linked from a few employer and payroll pages.

If you see a link that isn't clearly labelled, please tell us and we'll fix it.

What we don't take money for

  • We don't accept paid content. No sponsored articles, no paid guest posts, no "we'll write about your product for a fee".
  • We don't accept paid links. No do-follow link sales, no directory listings in exchange for money.
  • We don't run sponsored calculators. The calculator logic is open in tax-engine.js and derived from GOV.UK and HMRC-published rates, not from any third party.
  • We don't take gifts from financial-product companies. No free trips, no branded gifts, no honoraria for coverage.

How funding is separated from editorial

Partners don't pay for coverage and don't see or approve our content. Affiliate links are placed only where the product is relevant to the page, with at most one or two on a page. Tax figures and calculator results are never changed for commercial reasons.

Our rules for keeping content honest are in our editorial standards. Our rules for how calculator figures are derived are in our methodology page.

Cookies and tracking

  • Analytics — Google Analytics, so we can see which pages are read and which calculators are used. Analytics storage is off until you accept our cookie banner. We also record anonymous clicks on affiliate links.
  • Advertising — Google AdSense. Your advertising choice is made in Google's consent message, not our banner.

Full detail is in our privacy policy.

Not financial advice

PaySlipCheck publishes information about UK payroll, tax and take-home pay. It is not regulated financial advice, and PaySlipCheck is not authorised by the FCA to provide advice. Calculator outputs are educational estimates based on the published HMRC and gov.scot figures for the tax year shown — they should not be relied on for a specific decision without checking with a qualified accountant or HMRC directly.

Corrections

If you spot something wrong — a calculator that gives an odd result, a threshold that hasn't been updated, an affiliate link where you'd expect it disclosed more clearly — please tell us via our contact page. We fix substantive errors as quickly as we can and re-review the page.
